Name Labs Privacy Policy
A mobile app that combines your selections into name candidates for brands, shops, people, pets, and even code. This policy applies to this app only. The company privacy policy applies to the Duolabs website and other services.
Article 1. Personal Data Collected
Duolabs does not directly collect personal data through this app or retain it on company servers.
Article 2. Communication Leaving the Device
The Company does not collect personal data, but the app communicates with the services below in order to function. The following information may reach those services in the process.
- The operating system share sheet and the app or service you choose
Information sent: A single name candidate you chose to share (the name, its meaning, and why it was suggested)
Purpose: Sent to the selected destination only when you initiate sharing. The selected destination's policy governs retention and use after transfer. - Apple iCloud and device backup (www.apple.com/legal/privacy)
Information sent: App data and settings that iOS includes in system backups
Purpose: Apple's system backup and restore may operate when you enable iOS device backup. Inclusion and retention are governed by your settings and Apple's policy.
Article 3. Things to Note
- There is no account, login, sign-up, or synchronization server of our own.
- The app never connects to the internet on its own. Automatic update checks are disabled, so simply opening the app sends no request to any server. Communication happens only when you tap share.
- Values you enter or select for naming (family name, the gender feel of a name, the qualities you want, a pet's coat and temperament, and so on) are used on the device only and never leave it.
- Name candidates, hanja glosses, and industry naming data ship inside the app, so generating names requires no communication with our servers.
- Names you save and your recent sessions are stored only in files inside the app's private storage.
- No usage analytics tools are included. There are no advertisements, push notifications, payments, or social logins.
- Camera, microphone, contacts, and location permissions are blocked in the app configuration. The app does not read your photos.
- Android auto backup is disabled. iOS system backup follows your settings and Apple's policy.
Article 4. Destruction of Personal Data
Saved names and recent sessions remain only in files on your device. Clearing them in settings or deleting the app removes them, and Duolabs keeps no separate copy.
Article 5. Your Rights
This app retains no information that could identify a user, so there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions about this policy or the app's handling of data, you may contact us below.
